Goenkarponn… The Goa Song has touched Goan hearts across the World. The song is being sung at various Goan Festivals held internationally in Sydney, Qatar, Bangalore, California or London. The song is about the subtle Spirit of Goa, and has touched Goans and Goa lovers across the world with its melodious tune and captivating lyrics!

Qatar

"An impromptu Goan evening was organised at the Indian Cultural Center in Doha Qatar for the Founder Chairman Armando Gonsalves who was on a visit there. The evening basically celebrated the success of the Goenkarponn song. The program was organized by Philo Alves and Bosco Menezes and sponsored by Doha Rocks. A group of Goans residing in Qatar sang the Goankarponn song"- Bosco Menezes, Qatar

Sydney

The Konkani Association of Australia (KAA) held its flagship program Amgel Utsav on the 6th of February in Sydney. This full day event celebrated Konkani culture, language and tradition. Blossom Bhandarkar led the singing of Goenkarponn ably accompanied, in chorus, by Sunil Bhandarkar, Vidya Bhandarkar, Jayanti Pai, Nikhil Bhat and others. A beautiful video of our favourite sights of Goa accompanied this rendition. London

The UK Goans played the song on their large LED screen at the venue that reached more than 10,000 Goans who congregate for the yearly UK Goan Festival which was held this year on August 6th at Cranford College Grounds. Our Chairman Armando Gonsalves was present at the grounds himself, as people sang and danced to the tune with gay abandon, feeling that subtle and beautiful spirit of Goenkarponn, something that is now sizzling across Planet Goa.

California

"This year’s Californian Goan World Goa Day Picnic, their 4th, brought the traditions of Goa in it’s most tactile form. All senses were highlighted, including the very touch of traditions with this year’s Patolleos getting made fresh by picnic attendees and served warm and sweet by tea time. As a part of the Open Mic, the Goenkarponn song was sung by Franky Monteiro and Lizann Lopes. It was a fantastic day. The event was held on Sunday 27th Aug'17 at Kochhar Institute organised by The Karnataka Goan Association. Every year we have a theme for the event that enriches about Goan culture and heritage.our theme this year was Let's dance - conceptualised around a traditional Goan wedding reception and its popular dances,wedding march,Fox Trot,Tango,Waltz,Chachacha,Jive,Portuguese dance and Goan Masala mix. The Song Goenkarponn conceptualised by Goa ForGiving is very captivating,soul searching and appropriate for the occasion which symbolises Goan heritage and culture.Our Konkani Choir including little children were happy and proud to sing the song on World Goa Day which was indeed appreciated by four hundred odd members and guest. Our Special Guest for the occasion was our very own Wendell Rodricks,India's top 10 fashion designers,a writer and social activist who delivered a beautiful message to the youngsters about focusing on Goa and protecting its culture and heritage"- Mafalda Quadros, President of The Karnataka Goan Association.
