In 2014 we oragnised a dinner at Chef Cyrus Todiwala's Restaurant 'Assado' in London. The evening had guest in attendance from various parts of Europe who flew in specially to attend the dinner. The guest list also included Mr. Simon Huges, the Bristish Minister of Justice.
CEO of Taste of Goa Armando Gonsalves and Chef Vashqito Alvares led a presentation at 5th Edition of the most prestigious Goa Arts & Literary Festival on the Taste of Goa Festival.
British Chefs went on a food walk at the Mapusa market to explore Goan ingredients and use them in their dishes which the demonstrated at the Taste of Goa Festival. They were amazed by the variety of oils and vinegers available at the market.
A press conference was held at Paryatan Bhavan. The conference was addressed by Nikhil Desai, Tourism Director Amea Abhyankar, CCP Commissioner Sanjit Rodrigues, President of Churchill China (Our partners for the event), Chef Cyrus Todiwala, Planet goa magazine owner Gautam Mukherjea and Armando Gonsalves, CEO Taste of Goa. The press were run through the events that were in store or the three day festival at Garcia de Orta Garden, Church Square.
A pre party was organised at the Gonsalves Mansion to set the mood for the Taste of Goa festival which was scheduled for the next three days. The whos who of Goa were present at the party making it a memorable one. Among the guests were Goa's celebrated chefs Vashquito Alvares and Slyvestro D'Souza, The head of Holiday IQ Hari Nair, Manager of Alila Diva Resort and Spa Sidharth Savkur and Wife, Proprietor of Cazulo Feni Hansel Vaz, Musicians Varun Carvalho, Carlos Gonsalves and Peregrino Da Costa, Activist Fr. Bismarque Dias etc.
Celebrity Chef Cyrus Todiwala who was the BBC’s Food Personality of the Year 2015 lead a five member team from England, to tickle the palates of Goans and others who were present at the festival. Paul Cunningham, Sarah Teresa Hartnett, Feeney John Paul and Colin Bussey finish off this star studded team that regaled all. Chef Cyrus along with 4 British chefs brought delicacies from Goa, Portugal and more. A connoisseur of Goan-Portuguese food, this food fiesta exhibited his culinary skills and presented dishes made by him along with his fellow chefs. They demonstrated a wide variety of food prepared live and this includes entrées, main courses and desserts. The 3 day event also inlcuded art and music from Goan and International bands.
